Hot on the heels of a third Jimmy John’s opening in Cedar Rapids, Milio’s Sandwiches has also opened in downtown Cedar Rapids.

The new location at 200 First Ave. NE is one of three new locations planned by owner, Joe Sipich of Cedar Rapids . The others are in the area of Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, and one in Marion. Milio's downtown location is next door to Jersey's Downtown in the space used by Quizno's before the Floods of 2008.

Milio’s already had two locations in Cedar Rapids — at 3521 First Ave. SE and at 266 Blairs Ferry Road NE.

Sipich said he regards the local market as a competitive one in the sub sandwich sector of the restaurant industry but feels that “competition is good for the customer.”
