Iowa Theatre Artists Company Description

2016 marks the 9th year for the Iowa Theatre Artists Company (ITAC). The founders of the company, Meg Merckens and Tom Johnson are each veterans of many years of directing, acting, and designing in the professional theatre. Special emphasis is placed on hiring professionals with Iowa or Midwestern roots. ITAC began in 2008 with performances at the Colony Village Restaurant in Little Amana before moving into its permanent home in 2009 to the former Barn Restaurant in the 'heart' of the village of Amana. This year will mark the first year that ITAC will producing special projects and events rather than a 'full season of theatre.' ITAC's intimate theatre space is a wonderful way to experience live theatre. Watch for upcoming announcements of shows and concerts in their 99-seat theatre! ITAC enjoys a close working relationship with Actors' Equity Association, the union of professional actors and stage managers in the United States.
