Fall Fibre Show and Sale
<p>The Amana Arts Guild, 1210 G Street, High Amana, located in one of the seven Amana historic villages of the Amana Colony, will sponsor a Fall Fiber Art Show and Sale on Saturday November 3 and Sunday November 4. The show and sale is a special Holiday shopping event for those unique one of a kind items. Admission is free. Hot cider and treats will be available.</p><p>This intimate event celebrates rug-making, spinning, weaving, and needlework. Several of the artisans will be demonstrating their craft. Along with individual artisans the Guild’s “Handmade in Amana” shop will be open to the public. Spring Plant and Tool Sale
<p>In celebration of the coming gardening season, Matthew 25 will be hosting a plant and tool sale on Saturday, May 12th. <p>How is something placed in orbit or on a journey</p><p>to another place in the solar system? How fast</p><p>must it go? What challenges must be met in</p><p>going to the space station? Are launch rockets</p><p>only used once or can they be reused? How are</p><p>spacecraft and people safely returned to earth?</p><p>Do we have the necessary technology to go to</p><p>Mars? We will answer these questions and more</p><p>during this class. We also plan to describe our</p><p>visit to Cape Canaveral in early March 2018 to</p><p>witness the launch of the next weather satellite</p><p>GOES-S. Our son-in-law works with that satellite</p><p>program at NOAA and arranged a special</p><p>invitation for us to watch the launch.</p><p>Fee: none.
