The Codfish Hollow Barnstormers have a brilliant summer on the horizon.

Quick refresher on what Codfish Hollow is: It’s a barn just outside of Maquoketa that has played host to bands from the Counting Crows to Dinosaur Jr to Connor Oberst. You follow the signs. You park. You take a ride on a hay rack. It’s bumpy. All the shows are all ages. They sell beer. Bring a lawnchair.

If you know Codfish Hollow, you probably know it for music. On Memorial Day weekend, there will be music and there will be comedy.

And, oh yeah, professional wrestling. You know, a little something for everyone.

The inaugural Turnbuckle Fest — presented by Moeller Nights and Bummer City — will jump from the top rope into your laps May 26 and May 27. Comedy and music will happen on two stages over two days. The second day kicks off with four pro wrestling matches by the superstars of SCW, an entertainment company based out of the Quad Cities. in a ring set up in the middle of a pasture.

Diarrhea Planet is not the name of one of the wrestlers. It’s one of the bands, a Nashville, Tenn., guitar-o-rama that will singe your eyebrows.

The headliner is Har Mar Superstar, high-powered synthy rhythm and blues. Sean Matthew Tillmann is Har Mar Superstar and a Google image search will tell you he’s uniquely positioned to headline a weekend that includes pro wrestling.

Along those lines, when you hear the Louisville, Ky., band White Reaper’s ’70s-drenched power pop, you’ll get the theme. You can see this music playing a pro wrestler under the rope and onto the ring.

Headlining on the funny side of the lineup are Kyle Kinane, a Comedy Central regular who’s been on “Drunk History” — “Drunk History,” if you’ve seen it, you know — and Nick Thune, whose new standup special “Nick Thune, Good Guy” is now streaming on Amazon.

I’m sure I’m jumping ahead, but the list of comics includes several locals you’ve seen at Penguins Comedy Club in Cedar Rapids, including Bobby Ray Bunch, Donny Townsend, Travis Bails, Tommy Morgan Jr. and Martin Lathrop. No, they won’t be wrestling, although that would be really, really, really funny.

Two-day passes and single-day tickets now are available at www.codfishhollowbarnstormers.com. All tickets include free camping. They have that there at Codfish. It’s a field in hills of Jackson County. Why wouldn’t it have camping?

Some other Codfish acts this summer include Son Volt (sold out), John Moreland (somehow there are tickets left for this amazing man’s music on June 17) and Dawes (also somehow there are tickets remaining for this Aug. 2 show).
