Live Healthy Iowa Kids Track Meet

Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation invites boys and girls ages 7 to 14 to compete Saturday, May 20 at 1:00 p.m. at Coe College’s Clark Field, 1220 First Avenue NE, in the Cedar Rapids local Live Healthy Iowa Kids Track Meet. The competition is free of charge. Winners in the Cedar Rapids meet will advance to the state championships in Marshalltown on Saturday, June 10. Events will include the 50 meter dash, 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 800 meter run, 1600 meter run, 4 x 100 meter relay, standing long jump, and softball throw.
Advance registration is required. Register for the meet by filling out the form available online at www.CRYouthSports.com or at Northwest Recreation Center, 1340 11th Street NW, or at City Services Center, 500 15th Avenue SW. The registration deadline is Wednesday, May 17 by 5:00 p.m.
The Live Healthy Iowa Track Championships are sponsored by the Iowa Sports Foundation, in partnership with the Iowa Parks and Recreation Association and Marshalltown Parks and Recreation. The mission of the Live Healthy Iowa Kids Track Championships is to provide a quality recreation program where children have fun and are introduced to physical fitness through track and field events without financial barriers.
