Event Description

Come together in a circle of trust to integrate imagination, learning and prayer through the practice of Visio Divina, or holy seeing, at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha) on Tuesday mornings. A contemplative practice of praying the Scriptures while viewing visual art, Visio Divina involves listening to the word of God, viewing art, pondering God’s message, letting your heart speak and resting in God. In Jan. and Feb., this group is focusing on art based on various Scripture passages about banishing fear and anxiety. Join them in their study of the be not afraid Scriptures through the works of professional and local artists (including Bob Naujoks, who created the art shown here). The sessions, facilitated by Lois Ocenosak, stand alone, so you may attend one or all. Please note this group will not meet Jan. 2 in honor of the new year. The cost is $5 per session. (If you would like a hot Prairiewoods lunch for $9, please call 319-395-6700 by the previous Friday to see if a meal is being served.) For more information or to register, contact Prairiewoods at or 319-395-6700.
