Let There Be Peace on Earth - A handbell Christmas Concert

<p>Celebrate the Christmas season with the Marion Methodist Handbell Ministry.  Performances by A Joyful Noise, Jubilation, Bell Canto, and Touch of Brass on Sunday, December 3rd at 4:00 PM.  No admission charged ~ instead bring a non-perishable food item to benefit the Marion Food Pantry.  </p><p>Stay after the concert for a soup supper served by the Marion Methodist Men.  </p> 2023-10-18 18:30:00 -0500

On Nov 15, they are excited and honored to share the stage at Voxman Concert Hall with the UI Symphony Band. Then the ICNHB ensembles and full band will perform at the Senior Center on Dec 5 and Dec 12, respectively. Finally, ICNHB will round out the season in a joint concert with the Iowa City Community Band at the Englert Theatre on Dec 17. All concerts are free of cost. Our spring session begins January 16, 2024, and we welcome new members. Voices of Experience Concert

Enjoy a wide variety of music, from sounds of familiar holiday favorites with a new twist to beautiful melodies sung in Latin and Hebrew. Add a touch of Broadway, a beautiful film theme, the musical humor of the Smothers Brothers, a dash of swingin' Doo-wop, and a rousing audience sing-along, and it's the perfect recipe for a memorable, musical experience! A Blue Violin Candlelight Christmas

<p>Christmas by Candlelight - Bring in the holiday season with award-winning classical crossover artist, Blue Violin, for a series of intimate performances, as he shares a very personal approach to electric and acoustic violin playing alongside stories of travels around the globe.</p><p>Former 1st violinist of the Boston String Quartet, Blue Violin performs original music and covers in a multimedia format, all using a single violin. Imagine the production of Lindsey Stirling with the virtuosity of David Garrett.</p><p>Blue Violin has performed as soloist with the Xibus World Orchestra, Ethno-Urban Orchestra, and has performed with John Mayer, Paul Simon, Jennifer Holliday, the Turtle Island Quartet, and members of Celtic Woman and Riverdance</p><p>This year's Blue Violin Candlelight Christmas will feature</p><p>-Electric/world fusion reimagining of classic Christmas songs such as 'Carol of the Bells', 'Silent Night', and 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman'.</p><p>-Acoustic arrangements of holiday favorite, 'I Wonder as I Wander', Mark O Connor's 'Appalachian Waltz', and 'Fairy Tale' by Alexander Rybak (Eurovision).</p><p>-Original compositions and arrangements from Blue Violin's upcoming album release, including a completely new Blue Violin vision for songs such as 'Thunderstruck', 'Last Christmas', and 'Do They Know it's Christmas'.</p><p>It's more fun with the whole family, and when you buy a family pass, we'll give you 3 more tickets for free!</p><p>The show will be one hour 30 minutes with no intermission.
