Stars and Stripes Musical Celebration
<p><strong>Stars and Stripes Musical Celebration, July 2 </strong></p><p>Kick off the 4<sup>th</sup> of July weekend at the <strong>“Stars and Stripes” Musical Celebration on Saturday, July 2 at 4 p.m. at the United Church of Monticello.</strong> At this first-time event, local musicians will perform patriotic music to celebrate the 4<sup>th</sup> of July. </p><p>Performers will include: David Marshall, a retired Anamosa music teacher, Melanie (Paulsen) Beyerl, a pianist who graduated from Monticello High School and now teaches music at Western Dubuque Schools, and a trio including Sandy Stamp, a violinist from Monticello, Alex Resendiz, also a violinist and Jose Resendiz, a key board player both from Marion. </p><p>Scott Kelly, organist at the First Congregational Church, Anamosa, will share his knowledge of the organ as part of his musical performance. Robby Holmes, a Monticello native, will perform patriotic vocal pieces. Jan Cratsenberg, Monticello, director of Starlighter II Theatre performances, will share a reading of the Gettysburg Address. </p><p>The audience will also have a chance to “sing along” to patriotic songs.</p><p>This free musical event is open to the community will be followed by an ice cream reception.</p><p>Donations will be accepted for the Monticello Food Pantry.</p> 2022-06-29 17:30:00 -05007/02/224:00 p.m.United Church of MonticelloMonticello -

Visual artists also use this approach. For me, a theme is generally related to the subject matter depicted, but it can also be about the approach to composition or the use of certain materials.
