Triple Treat Bracelet
<p>This herringbone bracelet helps you learn how to move from a larger base to three individual strips of beading. Connect these three strips back into a larger base on the other end. The clasp will be a perfectly matching vintage button or a handmade glass piece. This bracelet can be worn as a flat three stranded bracelet or twisted for a different look. No previous experience necessary. Instructor: Karen Kubby.</p><p>Registration is $72 and includes all materials and instruction. Register in person, via phone at 319 338-1566, or on-line.</p><p>During the COVID-19 recovery period, classes are limited to 6 people on a first come first served basis via paying the registration fee. <p><strong>Preserving Your Family Treasures</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Your family's history probably includes many things other than vital statistics. Do you have documents, family heirlooms or other mementoes that you want to preserve for future generations? At our January 30th meeting Giselle Simon from the University of Iowa Libraries Preservation and Conservation Department will present <strong>Preserving Your Family Treasures</strong>. Giselle will share how to store materials, including textiles, photographs, papers, books and scrapbooks. Don't know where to find materials to use for safely storing those important items? Giselle will provide resources for obtaining supplies for proper storage and preservation.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><em>Giselle Simón </em></strong>is the Conservator at the University of Iowa Libraries and Adjunct Faculty at the University of Iowa Center for the Book. She began book conservation work at Northwestern University Library in 1992. From 2001–2012 she worked at the Newberry Library in Chicago, first as Collections Conservator and then as Director of Conservation Services. She has taught bookbinding and conservation classes at Columbia College Chicago Center for the Book and Paper Arts and collections care courses at the University of Chicago’s Graham School. She is a Co-Director for Paper and Book Intensive, a working sabbatical for paper and book practitioners.</p><p><br>Everyone is welcome to participate in the Zoom meeting, which will begin at 9:30 a.m. Jan 30th. Metta Yoga with Prairiewoods
<p>Experience the healing powers of meditative yoga from the spiritual environment and natural beauty of Prairiewoods via Zoom. Join us as we link our movements with our breath and cultivate strength, flexibility and relaxation through regular hatha-style yoga classes. RYT-200 Hour Certified Yoga Alliance Instructors Carla Brems and Heather English offer Gentle/Beginner’s Yoga (Mondays and Thursdays from 9:30–10:30 a.m.). People of all fitness levels and abilities are encouraged to participate whenever available. Carla Brems enjoys teaching hatha-style yoga so that all feel welcome and safe to appreciate and enjoy the physical, mental and spiritual benefits that yoga can bring. Heather English began practicing yoga for the mental health benefits and became a yoga instructor in order to share these amazing benefits with others. Heather is inspired by the potential that a regular yoga practice has for impacting so many areas of life. Country Dances - Level 1
<p>re you a boot scooter or looking for some moves to take to the dance floor? In this class you will be instructed in Country Two-Step, Waltz and Chacha. It's a good class for beginners.
