Nine Square Feet's 2023 Seed Swap and Giveaway
<p>This highly anticipated, multi-location gardening event is FREE, and open to the public from 10:00am-12:00pm. An awesome collection of seed varieties - vegetables and herbs, flowers, and native prairie species. Small space selections. Easy-to-grow varieties. Perennial and pollinator-friendly selections. Nine Square Feet is providing each swap location with a great selection of seed, and they've recruited some knowledgeable local folks to help you find just the right varieties for your garden.<br>Each <strong>adult</strong> attendee can choose up to <strong>5 free</strong> packets of seed and <strong>children</strong> (12 and under) can pick <strong>2 free</strong> packets of their very own. Bring a gardening buddy or the whole family.</p><p>Do you have seed to swap? Swap up to 10 packets of your saved seed 1-for-1.</p><p><strong>Here are the guidelines for seed swappers: </strong></p><ul><li>Swap a maximum of 10 seed packets 1-for-1. </li><li>Seeds must be collected or dated 2019 or later. </li><li>Saved seed should have a germination rate of at least 60%. Here’s an easy tutorial of a germination test <a href="https://www.southernexposure.com/how-to-test-germination/%C2%A0">https://www.southernexposure.com/how-to-test-germination/ </a></li><li>Packaged in paper envelopes or plastic baggie, individually labeled. </li><li>Suggested quantity is 10-20 larger seeds or ¼-½ teaspoon small seeds. </li><li>Labeled with seed type AND variety name. Optional: color, height, growth habits. </li><li>Labeled with year collected.</li><li>Labeled with the swapper’s first name.</li><li>You may also swap opened commercial seed packets dated 2019-2023 with at least half original contents and taped closed. </li></ul><p><br>We love SEEDS!
