Summer Time Speed Dating Event Ages 30+
<p>**THIS EVENT WILL SELL OUT**</p><p>Over 55 singles attended out last event and over 50 connections were made. Are you ready to stop swiping and start connecting?</p><p>Come and spend a few hours with the greatest singles in the corridor! Held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Cedar Rapids, come in, grab a drink, and prepare for your mini-dates!</p><p>How does it work?</p><p>Each single will go on a series of mini-dates lasting about 3-4 minutes. After each date, you will have an opportunity to indicate on the sheet provided if there is a match. At the end of the event, The Heart Agency will collect all sheets. If there is a mutual connection, The Heart Agency will do a formal email introduction of both parties, and the rest is history! (Information will only be shared if there is a mutual match).</p><p>What if you are nervous and don't know what to say? We got you! Prairiewoods Garden Party: Growing Our Roots
<p>The Garden Party returns to the beautiful grounds at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha)! Join us on Saturday, June 10, for a night of live music, great food and nature. All of the proceeds from this event will go toward supporting and expanding Prairiewoods’ beautiful outdoor spaces, as well as our gardens that produce thousands of pounds of fresh, organic produce each year. Once harvested, the produce is donated to a local food pantry that serves those facing food insecurity in our community. Come enjoy a fun evening and help our gardens grow! The cost is $60 per ticket and includes wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as a delicious tapas-style buffet. If you are a high school or college student, the cost is just $30. Iowa Ceramics Center & Glass Studio Summer Youth 1-Day Workshops Glass Caterpillar Garden Stake
<p><strong>Glass Caterpillar Garden Stake</strong>: Campers will create a glass caterpillar using pieces of colored glass. We will teach some warm glass techniques including: how to safely cut glass and how to layer glass to create your desired design. How you decorate your Caterpillar is all up to you using small pieces of glass! Participants will also paint their wooden stake to coordinate with your garden or Caterpillar. Finished projects will measure approximately 2”x5”.</p><p><br></p><p>All glass participants must wear closed toed shoes and clothing that covers their legs for glass safety, protective eyewear is provided. Projects will be dried on our shelves, then fired in our kilns for pick up 3 weeks after camp ends. Colonies in Bloom
<p>Several of our local gardeners open their yards to visitors who may stroll and see the fruits of their hard work! The Amana Colonies are blessed to have so many talented gardeners that are dedicated to their hobby. Twice each growing season we select the best yards and gardens, and these private individuals open them up for you to see.</p><p>This event is free and you will fill an entire day traveling through the Amana Colonies to the selected homes. Each one is different and unique. Some are tended by master gardeners and others by residents that just love their garden. You’ll see flowers and green plants along with vegetable gardens. Some rare plants, beautiful displays of color, and get tips on how these masters grow their favorites.</p><p>The first Colonies in Bloom date is June 3rd, and the second date is July 22nd from 10am-4pm. There will be a number of gardens on this self-guided garden tour through the Amana Colonies! We will have printed maps with locations and garden descriptions to help you find each garden and to provide some information about the event, each garden, and our Garden Party which follows the garden tour.</p> 2023-03-07 16:00:00 -0600
