Art Exhibit: Polyphonous 2021-Mimetic Lives II
<p>Gilded Pear Gallery is thrilled to present an inaugural concurrent exhibition, <em>Polyphonous 2021: Mimetic Lives II</em>, a 2-person display of new jewelry works by local artists, Satomi Kawai and Jillian Moore.</p><p>The collective, Polyphonous, was founded by Professor Jivan Astfalck, Rachel Darbourne and Laura Bradshaw-Heap, loosely grouped through connections at the School of Jewellery in Birmingham, England, but members are from multiple countries- including U.S. based artists Satomi Kawai and Jillian Moore. <p>Come learn the techniques to create a herringbone graduated tube earring using three sizes of Toho round seed beads! Add your own flair with Swarovski crystals! Attach your creation to a headpin and make a one-of-a-kind wrapped loop earring! No previous experience necessary. $30 materials fee. This class will be held at a facility that is neither owned nor controlled by Kirkwood Community College. <p>Come join the expert Beadologists at Beadology Iowa to discover the star pattern component that can be used in so many designs such as earrings or a pendant, beaded together for a bracelet, or hung from a window or tree as an ornament! You'll use a combination of two-hole beads, Czech-pressed glass, Toho round beads, and Demi seed beads for this fast and fun project that you'll treasure forever! No experience needed. $30 materials fee. This class will be held at a facility that is neither owned nor controlled by Kirkwood Community College.
