EWALU Day Camp at Trinity Lutheran, Walford
<p>We invite you to come and explore what it means to seek God with your whole heart, to walk in the Spirit daily, and to reach out to a world around you with the love of Christ. You’ll have a blast! </p><p>You’ll discover all kinds of amazing gifts God has given you to make a difference in your world.</p><p>Each day begins with morning alpha (worship) with songs, skits, and scripture all focusing on the day’s theme. Then it’s off to Bible studies, crafts, games, snack time, and more fun. Each day is brought to a close with afternoon omega (closing worship). Camp is led by EWALU Bible Camp Counselors and many volunteers from Trinity Lutheran Church. EWALU counselors bring with them a ton of energy, love for kids, crazy songs and skits, and a desire to share God’s love. </p><p><u>Who</u>: All kids who have completed Kindergarten – 5th grade. Hi Yoga presented by Panda Marie
<p>Hi Yoga is a day-long yoga festival focused on all things wellness and healing! We will kick off at 8AM with an optional 5k run / Mindfulness Mile walk to get the blood flowing. We will then get into a group yoga session led by Dusty Swehla & Ben Spellman. Guests will then be able to participate in breakout sessions featuring experts on sound healing, buti yoga, meditation, and numerology. Guests will also be able to enjoy local food trucks, tarot card readers, henna tattoo artists, optional aerial yoga, and shop our wellness market featuring 16 different vendors throughout the day. The day will wrap up with another group yoga session led by Dusty and Ben, followed by a live concert featuring Alisabeth Von Presley! We are SO excited to be able offer a wellness event of this level to our local community! Foraging Urban Wild Edibles at Prairiewoods
<p>Come walk with us! Join Jen Kardos and Fred Meyer at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha) as we meander and munch and learn to identify the most common wild edibles found in an urban backyard, as well as cultivated herbs and berries integrated into Prairiewoods’ Garden of Eat’n. We will create and sample simple delicious snacks and drinks by blending our foraged bounty with familiar veggies and culinary herbs. Recipes, informational handouts and book recommendations will be provided. Planned dishes include a detoxing greens drink, foraged pesto and a juneberry crisp. Please dress for hands-on, outdoor learning. Tell us at registration if mobility accommodations may be needed, as we will cover quite a bit of ground during the class. The cost is $15, and registration and payment are required by Friday at noon. Sanctuary Strolls
<p>Join Iowa Farm Sanctuary each Sunday between May 16 and October 10 (except August 1) for a relaxing visit. Meet our rescued farm animal residents and explore the gorgeous unpaved walking trail. Volunteers are on hand to share stories about the animals. <p>Join Iowa Farm Sanctuary each Sunday between May 16 and October 10 (except August 1) for a relaxing visit. Meet our rescued farm animal residents and explore the gorgeous unpaved walking trail. Sanctuary Strolls
<p>Join Iowa Farm Sanctuary each Sunday between May 16 and October 10 (except August 1) for a relaxing visit. Meet our rescued farm animal residents and explore the gorgeous unpaved walking trail. Volunteers are on hand to share stories about the animals.
