Event Description

Jennifer Harvey, Profession of Religion at Drake University will be the speaker.  The current political climate places unique and urgent demands on faith communities. What role should faith communities be playing? In particular, how should predominantly white Christian congregations be stepping up and out to publicly ally with and support communities of color and religious minorities who are under specific threat? These are difficult conversations. They are rooted in longer histories of a failure to build the relationships we need in order to show solidarity across racial and religious lines. But we must have these conversations and work for these relationships with passion now—our collective future depends on it.
