4 - 6:30 PM in the Assembly Room

Join us for a screening of the humorous and

heartwarming documentary, Cyber-Seniors,

which chronicles the extraordinary journey of

a group of colorful older adults as they discover

the world of the internet through the guidance

of teenage mentors. Their exploration of cyberspace

is catapulted to another level when 89

year-old Shura decides to create a YouTube

cooking video. A spirited video competition

for the most views evolves as the cyber-seniors’

hidden talents and competitive spirits are

revealed. This inspiring doc provides insight

into the wonderful things that can happen

when generation gaps are bridged, proving you

are never too old to get ‘connected.’

Following the film, The Center will host its

own intergenerational tech help session and

social hour. Volunteers will offer one-on-one

and small group technology assistance to

participants, so bring your devices and your

questions, or just stick around for some lively

conversation!

Co-sponsored by the Senior Center, University

of Iowa Aging and Longevity Studies Program,

and Computer Comfort.
