James Zogby to Speak on U.S. Mideast Policy and the 2020 Presidential Election
On Thursday, March 14, 2019, Arab American Institute President James Zogby will speak at the Cedar Rapids Public Library on:
“Undoing the Damage We’ve Done Across the Middle East: The Current Situation, And What We Can Do About It.”
This talk will focus on:
1) The ways the Trump administration has severely harmed efforts to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, leading to a significant deterioration in the lives of ordinary Palestinians, contributing to regional instability, and undermining possibilities for Middle East peace.
2) The promising signs of shifting discourse on this issue, and the significance of the 2020 election in possibly producing meaningful change in U.S. policy towards the region.
Cedar Rapids Public Library, Beems Auditorium.
Feel free to bring a bag lunch, or come early to pick up something from the cafe in the Library.
