Event Description

The League of Women Voters Linn County 2019 State of the County Luncheon will feature an address by Stacey Walker, this year’s chair of the Linn County Board of Supervisors. He will discuss the county’s successes and challenges and respond to questions from the audience. The 14thannual State of the County Luncheon will be Wednesday, May 8 at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center, 7725 Kirkwood Blvd SW, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon.


The event is open to the public and free seating is reserved for individuals who only want to listen to the presentation and not eat lunch.


Individual reservations for lunch are $40 per person; full tables of 10 are $400. Reservations may be made by contacting Dawn Jones, dawn.lwvlc@gmail.comby May 1 and mailing a check to LWV Linn County, P.O. Box 2422, Cedar Rapids, IA, 52406-2422. Reservations will be confirmed by email.

This is the 14th year of the LWV Linn County State of the County address. The League introduced the State of the City® to Cedar Rapids in 1990 and also sponsors the State of the City® in Marion.
