According to the National Cancer Institute, the main risk factor for skin cancer is exposure to sunlight (UV radiation), but there are also other risk factors. Limit your time in the sun and stay away from sunlamps and tanning booths. At this free skin cancer screening, sponsored by the American Academy of Dermatology and UI Dermatology, sun-exposed skin areas will examined by dermatologists (please wear short sleeves/shorts if possible). There will be a short form to fill out at the screening (assistance available). Screenings are available on a walk-in basis; first come, first served. Check in at room 202. Contact Carmen Smith at 319-356-2856 with questions.
