As the state continues to deal with the coronavirus, please check with event organizers to confirm the status of events you see listed.

In addition to in-person events, a virtual option has been created to post and search for those events and programs that are offering an online gathering opportunity for our Hoopla readers. Enjoy!

Meet in the Senior Center lobby

Guide: Kelly Schneider

Join the Johnson County Mobility Coordinator, Kelly Schneider, this summer for a series of community outings using the area's finest mode of transportation--the bus! One Friday each month we will meet in the Senior Center lobby, walk to the bus stop, and catch a ride to various restaurants in the community for lunch. This will be a fun and new way to get your daily steps in, socialize over lunch, and gain experience riding the bus. Kelly will serve as the tour guide leading you along the way. The bus fare will be covered. Plan to do some walking and pay for the cost of your lunch.

6/21: The Original Midtown Family Restaurant

A staple to the community, Midtown offers a full menu of classic breakfast, lunch, and dinner favorites, as well as weekly specials and desserts. Meet at the Senior Center at 10:50 AM and expect to return around 2 PM. We will be at the restaurant for about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Explore the Court Hill route for the trip to Midtown, which entails about 16 minutes of walking broken up into segments.
