Event Description

Action, Comedy, History, Falstaff! Riverside Theatre continues our Free Shakespeare in Lower City Park with "Henry IV Part 1". The story of a kingdom in trouble, and of a leader who rises from the most unlikely of places.

When King Henry IV seized the throne from Richard II, he opened a can of worms that threatens to pull England apart. If a king can be deposed once, what's to stop it from happening again? Enter: Harry "Hotspur" Percy, a dashing, battle-hardened nobleman, eyeing an insurrection. The crown's only hope is Hal, the ne'er-do-well next-in-line, who prefers an Eastcheap pub over court, and keeps the company of one Sir John Falstaff. Will Hotspur's rebellion triumph? Will Falstaff keep Hal's devotion? Will Hal languish away -- or save her country?

There will be a Green Show performance (contemporary retelling) of the show each night at 6:30. There will also be food trucks and family-friendly activities available.

Directed by Adam Knight, and featuring Tim Budd, Katy Hahn, Elliot Bales, Aaron Weiner, Kristy Hartsgrove Mooers, Robyn Calhoun, K. Michael Moore, Matthew James, Noel VanDenBosch, Elijah Jones, Rob Merritt, Branden Shaw, Dennis Barnett, and Jack Hahn!
