- All Ages
- Kid Friendly
The community of Bertram will host their 2019 Homecoming Day Saturday, Aug. 24 in the Bertram City Park. A potluck lunch and family activities take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Neighbors are invited to bring a favorite snack or dessert to share for the free potluck lunch. Sandwiches, chips, baked beans, soft-serve ice cream and drinks will be provided. Free family activities in the afternoon include a face painter and caricature artist. Residents can also visit and play the Bertram disc golf course in nearby High Point Nature Park.
Neighbors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and meet others in the Bertram community. Previous residents and those with "Bertram roots" are especially encouraged to attend.
The weekend events will conclude with another tradition, Worship in the Park. Everyone is invited to take part in an open-air service with Bertram United Methodist Church members in the park at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 25. The gathering will include live music, inspirational message and a sing-along.
All events are free, with donations welcomed to help with event costs. The yearly celebration was revived from a Bertram town tradition going back the early 1900s. The church and city leaders co-host festivities each year as a community service.
