Event Description

Aging is full of challenges, many of which can be made lighter by laughter. That’s the approach taken by local actor and award-winning playwright Janet Schlapkohl, who understands the power of humor in dealing with the life changes that come with growing older. Schlapkohl weaves her own experiences as the daughter of aging parents and spouse of a large-animal veterinarian into a funny, edgy, yet loving look at the so-called golden years, tarnish and all. Join TRAIL of Johnson County for this free public event. Musical prelude by Mektoub (John Rapson, Daniel Gaglione, Ryan Smith) and refreshments to follow the performance. Sponsored by Lensing Funeral Service, Caring Hands & More, and MidWestOne Bank. Registration is encouraged but not required. Call the TRAIL office at (319) 800-9003 for more details.
