On March 17, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds declared a statewide public health disaster emergency in response to the state's coronavirus outbreak. The proclamation includes the restriction of in-person gatherings of 10 or more people along with the temporary closing of several businesses in the arts, culture and entertainment sector.

Most of the public gatherings listed on the Hoopla calendar are canceled or postponed through the end of April. Please check with event organizers to confirm the status of events you see listed.

A virtual option has been created to post and search for those events and programs that are offering an online gathering opportunity for our Hoopla readers. Enjoy!

Event Description

We are blessed with many ways to pray, including songful prayer, contemplative prayer, silent meditation and body prayers like walking the labyrinth. Prayer and meditation nurture our spiritual connection and promote mental and physical well-being. It benefits each of us individually and communally. Join us at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha) for this ongoing series and experience the joys of prayer and meditation together. This series is facilitated by Angie Pierce Jennings and Emelia Sautter, and you are welcome to enjoy it as a series or as individual sessions. A free-will offering will be accepted, and registration is appreciated but not required. For more information or to register, contact Prairiewoods at www.Prairiewoods.org or 319-395-6700.
