Event Description

The Family Folk Machine is Iowa City’s intergenerational, non-auditioned community choir. With a mission to build community, educate about American history and culture, and catalyze individuals’ musical development, the Family Folk Machine’s 75-voice all-ages choir performs concerts for the Iowa City community along with a band. The fall 2019 concert will be “One Family”: songs about the stages of life, family relationships, and finding family in a community of supportive friends. “One Family” will showcase songs by Janis Ian, Bill Withers, Bob Dylan, Jeff Tweedy, Sade, Greg Brown, and others, along with five original songs about parenting, aging, and the human family.
