Event Description

[Insight @ FPC CR] Evolution of U.S. Protestantism: From Cultural Control to Multiculturalism. For most of U.S. history, Protestants dominated American cultural, educational and political institutions. What developed and what has changed?

Kirkwood Professor of Religious Studies, Peter Jauhiainen, leads a three-week discussion on this topic. The third session ’s topic: Since the 1960’s, Protestantism has lost much of its cultural influence and has had to contend and cooperate with increasingly diverse voices. How has this affected it?

Please join us from 9 am to 10 am in the Wernimont Room at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Cedar Rapids. These sessions are free and open to the public.
