On March 17, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds declared a statewide public health disaster emergency in response to the state's coronavirus outbreak. The proclamation includes the restriction of in-person gatherings of 10 or more people along with the temporary closing of several businesses in the arts, culture and entertainment sector.

Most of the public gatherings listed on the Hoopla calendar are canceled or postponed through the end of April. Please check with event organizers to confirm the status of events you see listed.

CRFD Safety Scoop - Recreation - What's available for adults in the Cedar Rapids area?  11 am - 12:00 pm, September 23, 2020

Did you know that the CR Parks and Recreation Department manages over 4,171 acres of city owned property and operate and maintain facilities for public use including four municipal golf courses, six swimming pools, splash pads, 25 pavilions, Ushers Ferry Historic Village, Old MacDonald's Farm in Bever Park, Tuma Soccer Complex, Tait Cummins Sports Complex, Noelridge Park Greenhouse, and trails?  Rob Wagner, CR Recreation Supervisor, will talk about this and about a variety of programs for available for adults.
