Dog Obedience I with AKC® Canine Good Citizen®
- 7 - 8 p.m.
- Ages 17+
This course focuses on responsible pet ownership and basic good manners for dogs 12 months and older. Professional obedience training is an important step in establishing and strengthening the bond between you and your dog. Similar to Puppy Obedience, graduates of this course find that their dogs have better manners, adapt well to household routines, and are more fun to be around. This class culminates with the AKC® Canine Good Citizen® test. Successful completion of this course, or Puppy Obedience I, is required to enroll in Obedience II and Agility courses.
Please read: This course is for dogs 13 months and older and includes the testing fee for one test attempt. Those wishing to re-test will need to sign-up for the test-only class. No dogs on the first night. Please bring a pen, paper and shot records to first class. Recommended vaccines for your dog are Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella. Students who do not pass this class are welcome to retake it as many times as they need to pass. Upon successful completion of the test, additional fees, between $10 and $20, are payable to the American Kennel Club. These fees vary depending on the type of certification you would like your canine to receive.
