On March 17, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds declared a statewide public health disaster emergency in response to the state's coronavirus outbreak. The proclamation includes the restriction of in-person gatherings of 10 or more people along with the temporary closing of several businesses in the arts, culture and entertainment sector.

Most of the public gatherings listed on the Hoopla calendar are canceled or postponed through the end of April. Please check with event organizers to confirm the status of events you see listed.

A virtual option has been created to post and search for those events and programs that are offering an online gathering opportunity for our Hoopla readers. Enjoy!

Event Description

Join a vibrant group of women seeking spiritual enrichment, inspiration and motivation in the supportive setting of Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha). This group, facilitated by Ann Jackson, PBVM, meets weekly during the school year. We invite you to join us any Wednesday you are available! Topics arise from within the hearts and minds of those gathered. We participate in deep reflection, learning, lively conversation, laughter, storytelling and inquiry to generate incredible energy and spiritual stimulation. We also view TED Talks, converse, reflect, support and challenge one another to personal growth, no matter what stage of life. In January and February, we will be awakening our spiritual practices: living sustainably, always in discernment, honoring our body in movement, discovering mantras, remembering love, inviting relationship and creating abundance. There is a suggested donation of $10, which will be accepted at the door. Registration is requested by the day prior. For more information or to register, contact Prairiewoods at www.Prairiewoods.org or 319-395-6700.
