Event Description

The Quest: Seeking a Lost Heritage- topic of Genealogical Society Meeting

At the January 25th meeting of the Iowa City Genealogy Society, Sandra Hudson will take us on some Armchair Travel. She will share the tale of a young man’s transformative journey to the Czech Republic following the Velvet Revolution in 1989. Surprisingly, as he seeks to discover his heritage, he also discovers a part of yours—of every American’s heritage. Anyone with an interest in architecture, decorative art, fine art, guns and armaments, literature, music, or even unique business plans, will see images to enliven their imagination.

Sandra Hudson received a master’s in Administration, Planning and Social Policy from Harvard. Since retiring to Iowa City with her husband 22 years ago, Sandra has been involved in the arts at both the local and state level. Her hobbies are research and writing.

Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting, which will begin at 9:30 a.m. January25th,  at the LDS Family History Library, 2730 Bradford Drive, Iowa City. A wheelchair accessible entrance is available from the east parking lot.
