On March 17, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds declared a statewide public health disaster emergency in response to the state's coronavirus outbreak. The proclamation includes the restriction of in-person gatherings of 10 or more people along with the temporary closing of several businesses in the arts, culture and entertainment sector.

Most of the public gatherings listed on the Hoopla calendar are canceled or postponed through the end of April. Please check with event organizers to confirm the status of events you see listed.

A virtual option has been created to post and search for those events and programs that are offering an online gathering opportunity for our Hoopla readers. Enjoy!

Event Description

Come and celebrate the first full moon of spring with a joyful, energetic yoga practice, led by Lindsey Flannery. The spring equinox that occurred in March brought with it the energy of balance, expansion, and light. Spring is a time to reawaken to our joy and wonder as we clear out the old energy of winter and that which is no longer serving us. We’ll begin with a stroll through the woodlands, observing the first signs of the season with curiosity and delight. Then, we’ll return to the auditorium for an energetic, heart-opening vinyasa practice that puts us in touch with our own inner light. All ages welcome; previous yoga experience recommended. Please bring a yoga mat and wear shoes appropriate for walking in the woods. Fee: $20 or $36 when you sign up for both classes.
