On March 17, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds declared a statewide public health disaster emergency in response to the state's coronavirus outbreak. The proclamation includes the restriction of in-person gatherings of 10 or more people along with the temporary closing of several businesses in the arts, culture and entertainment sector.

Most of the public gatherings listed on the Hoopla calendar are canceled or postponed through the end of April. Please check with event organizers to confirm the status of events you see listed.

Event Description

The Family Caregivers Center of Mercy will hold a session on House Plants & Fairy Gardens. Houseplants can brighten a space, bring some of the outdoors in, and even clean the air we breathe.  Come learn about the various types of houseplants available today.  Find out which will thrive and grow in your home and what they need to stay healthy.  As a hands-on activity, learn how to create and take home your own fairy garden in a tea cup. This session will be facilitated by Linn County Master Gardener Rose Milden.
