On March 17, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds declared a statewide public health disaster emergency in response to the state's coronavirus outbreak. The proclamation includes the restriction of in-person gatherings of 10 or more people along with the temporary closing of several businesses in the arts, culture and entertainment sector.

Most of the public gatherings listed on the Hoopla calendar are canceled or postponed through the end of April. Please check with event organizers to confirm the status of events you see listed.

Event Description

The Family Caregivers Center of Mercy is offering an art session for caregivers and care receivers at 901 8th AVE SE in Cedar Rapids.  Come and express yourself through art! An instructor from the Eastern Iowa Arts Academy will guide you through creating your very own work of art. All materials provided and no artistic experience needed!


Registration required.  To register for a session or to request caregiving assistance at the Family Caregivers Center while attending this event, please let us know 48 hours in advance by calling (319) 221-8866 or emailing fcgc@mercycare.org.  There may be charges associated with this program.  Limited to 15 people.  For caregivers and care receivers ages: 18+
