Event Description

The farmer-poet Wendell Berry (1934- ) is arguably one of today’s most important, prophetic and interesting writers and critics on matters of land, health, community and spirituality. This contemplative retreat with facilitator Eric Anglada at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha) will be a celebration of Berry’s life and words, delving into his importance for our precarious age. Our time together will include talks, discussion, silence and contemplative time outdoors. The commuter fee for this one-day retreat is $150 and includes sessions and all Saturday meals. (You may choose to pay an additional $55 to stay overnight Saturday, including Sunday breakfast.) For more information or to register, contact Prairiewoods at or 319-395-6700.
