On March 17, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds declared a statewide public health disaster emergency in response to the state's coronavirus outbreak. The proclamation includes the restriction of in-person gatherings of 10 or more people along with the temporary closing of several businesses in the arts, culture and entertainment sector.

Most of the public gatherings listed on the Hoopla calendar are canceled or postponed through the end of April. Please check with event organizers to confirm the status of events you see listed.

Event Description

The count-down to the 4th of July isn't complete until you've seen the Freedom Festival Parade!

The Freedom Festival Parade is proud to continue the tradition of red, white, and blue floats, vehicles, music, dancing groups, businesses, and other local organizations. 

It also features the "Freedom Festival Express", which is a track-less train! The parade offers a patriotic and nostalgic way to celebrate community on the 4th of July weekend.

This event is FREE! Bring along a bag for CANDY!! Don't miss this fun, unique parade with over 100 entries each year!
