On March 17, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds declared a statewide public health disaster emergency in response to the state's coronavirus outbreak. The proclamation includes the restriction of in-person gatherings of 10 or more people along with the temporary closing of several businesses in the arts, culture and entertainment sector.

Most of the public gatherings listed on the Hoopla calendar are canceled or postponed through the end of April. Please check with event organizers to confirm the status of events you see listed.

A virtual option has been created to post and search for those events and programs that are offering an online gathering opportunity for our Hoopla readers. Enjoy!

Event Description

Start your holiday weekend right, with the sounds Music at the Museum: Freedom Festival Edition!

The band for this year, ViceBox, will be featured under the stars at the National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library's Amphitheater. Join us and this high energy “rock and roll” band,  with fun twists on some of your favorites, and just enough funk to keep you dancing.

ViceBox has quickly earned a reputation for being one of the most versatile and entertaining bands in eastern Iowa.  Each member brings influences as diverse as a member of a metal band, a member of a marching band, and our ultimate customer service advocates-our experienced wedding DJ’s.  The result is one of the most diverse mixes of music designed specifically to keep your guests entertained and on their feet. As one of our new Facebook fans recently stated “I was trying to walk outside for a moment, but couldn’t because I had no idea what you were going to play next and didn’t want to miss it!”

Gates open for this concert at 5:00 pm.

Plenty of room to dance, bring your lawn chairs - no coolers please,  but picnics welcome! Hy-Vee will have food available for purchase. BEVERAGE GARDEN! Beverages will be available for purchase.
