On March 17, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds declared a statewide public health disaster emergency in response to the state's coronavirus outbreak. The proclamation includes the restriction of in-person gatherings of 10 or more people along with the temporary closing of several businesses in the arts, culture and entertainment sector.

Most of the public gatherings listed on the Hoopla calendar are canceled or postponed through the end of April. Please check with event organizers to confirm the status of events you see listed.

Event Description

Cedar Valley Rocks and Minerals Society presents its 2020 Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show - featuring Meteorites: Earth's Oldest Rocks, There are programs, demonstrations, displays (including Iowa's Meteorites), silent auction, mineral sluice and other kids activities as well as many of the Midwest's top gem, mineral and fossil dealers. There is hot food on site and plenty of free parking,  Saturday 8:30 am- 6:00 pm. Sunday 9:30 am - 4:00 pm

$3 adults, $1 youth 12-18, Under 12 and youth groups with leader are free  (Profits help fund our scholarship program)
