The University Club NOVEMBER LUNCHEON

 NOVEMBER 8, 2022 LUNCHEON 

Program by Professor Emeritus, Jane Cox

 One act play. “The Yellow Rose of Suffrage”

 “The Yellow Rose of Suffrage”, is a one woman play about the life of Iowa State’s most distinguished alumni, Carrie Chapman Catt,1880 graduate, Catt’s early life on an Iowa farm in the 1800’s, and her conviction that women should have the right to vote. The play concentrates on the suffrage movement and passing of the leadership role from Susan B. Anthony to Catt In 1900. The play continues to the the “winning plan for passage of an amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Professor Cox, with her one woman shows, has performed in over twenty states as well as the Kennedy Center and the Smithsonian. Cox wrote this play. She has been involved with over two hundred productions as an actor, designer or director. We are very privileged to be able to have her for our luncheon.
