Genealogy Society to Tour New Johnson County Historical Museum

Johnson County Historical Society (JCHS) Executive Director, Alexandra McKendree, will direct a free, private tour of the new JCHS Museum at the Xtream Arena in the Iowa River Landing, Coralville. Tour will include time to explore the new exhibits dedicated to the history of Johnson County and a backstage tour of the archives that includes over 13,000 artfacts.

Location & Parking: Located on northside of Xtream Arena next to the Iowa Athletic Club Restaurant. Entrance address is 200 E. 9th Street, STE 101. Upon entering, proceed downstairs or use the elevator to the left to go to the basement. Follow the hall and you will come to the museum entrance and front desk. Free on street parking in front of the museum is available. Free parking is also available in the old museum parking lot located on E. 9th Street past the arena.

Entrance to the JCHS is free for program attendees and a discounted price of $7 will be provided if you wish to view our partner museum, the Antique Car Museum of Iowa.

Director: Alexandra McKendree has been the Executive Director of the JCHS for 10 years and is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a Bachelor's Degree in History and a Museum Studies Certification.
