“Finding Treasures in German Archives” topic of Genealogical Society Program

The Jan. 28th program of the Iowa City Genealogical Society, Finding Treasures in German Archives, will be presented by Ute Brandenburg. A professional genealogist, Ute, is a bilingual German American. Ute’s research interests are German immigration to the Midwest, research in the former Eastern Provinces of Prussia, and Jewish family history. Ute’s presentation will introduce types of resources that can be discovered at German and Polish archives and provide guidance on how to order from German archives from the comfort of your home.

The meeting will be held at 9:30 at the LDS Family History Center, 2730 Bradford Drive. Everyone is welcome to participate in either an in person or Zoom meeting, which will begin at 9:30 a.m. Send an email to icgsnews@gmail.com to receive details on how to join the zoom meeting.
