Event Description

Barb will tell her story about how she began her journey from an elementary education teacher to artist and author of children’s books. She will discuss her inspiration for writing her books and creating her art. 

Barb has lived in Iowa for almost four years with her husband, Michael and two cats, Poppy and Pepperoni. They have two grown daughters and four grandchildren. 

She has a BA in Education from Loyola University and a MA in Writing from Vermont College. She has taken many art classes from Northern Illinois University and has continually studied art for the past thirty years. 

She currently is a docent at the Stanley Museum and shows her artwork at the Iowa Artisans Gallery and the Cedar Rapids Art Museum gift shop and participates in juried shows at the Muscatine Art Center.

Roast Beef on Ciabatta with carmelized onions, creamy horseradish and Provolone. Served with Coleslaw, regular or decaffeinated coffee, Iced Tea, and water.
