Art Reception: Summer Exhibitions

Join the gallery for the public reception for both summer exhibitions: "Welcome: New Gallery Artists” in the main gallery- and- “By Design” with participating interior designers, on view in the 2^nd floor gallery.

Event: Receptions are open to the public and there are no admission fees. Visit Us: Drop in anytime during gallery hours: Monday-Friday 10:00am-5:00pm, Saturday 10:00am-2:00pm, and CLOSED on Sunday. Appointments for our services (i.e.-custom framing, art appraisals) are preferred. Features: A limited parking lot is available with 1 handicap space. On street parking is available on 3rd Avenue and 8th Street- non-metered. The MedQuarter features protected bike lanes and bicycle “parking” can be found on the opposite side of the building by the Pocket Park on 3rd and 8th.

"Welcome: New Gallery Artists": Main Floor Exhibition

This exhibition welcomes new gallery artists to the roster at Gilded Pear Gallery! The show is not based on a theme but the best representation of an artist’s body of work and style. Artworks on display include paintings, printmaking, collage, pastel, and ceramics. The Gallery focuses on the talents of artists working in the Midwest and, of the seven, five are eastern Iowans. The exhibiting artists selected bring fresh subject matter to the gallery, such as: larger-than-life-size florals, detailed symbolic imagery, clever color and pattern relationships, and delicious still-life moments. Join the gallery in welcoming: Wendy Eggerman, Nichole Gronvold Roller, Emily Jalinsky, Julia Kulish, Buffy Quegg, Justin Vasey, and Amanda Wilharm.

"By Design": 2^nd Floor Gallery

A first of its kind! The gallery has invited area interior designers who have partnered with the Gallery previously to participate in a fun take on an art exhibition. Participants selected artwork/s from Gilded Pear artists and have created design boards with the inspired artwork in mind. Have you ever felt drawn to an artwork, but didn’t feel like it would “fit” the room you had space for? This exhibition highlights the need for good design and the importance of original artworks in fulfilling interior spaces. Samples of wall coverings, tile, drapery, furniture textures and more can be found on display with included artworks. Four local design studios are featured: Janna McCalley Interiors, Aaron Murphy Interiors, Melanie Olson Design Group, and Lori Wiles Design for a total of 8 different designs. The exhibition will be posted online, but a visit to the gallery will be the most desired experience!
