Iowa Humanities in Medicine Celebration

Join Dr. Liana Meffert as she explores the dynamic relationship between creative expression, medical practices and social sciences. Dr. Meffert is an accomplished writer and emergency medicine resident physician at Georgetown Medical School in Washington, DC. She holds an MD from the Carver College of Medicine with distinction in the humanities. Dr. Meffert's written works have been featured in esteemed platforms such as JAMA, Medscape and The Healing Muse.  She is also the recipient of Stanford’s Irvin David Yalom Literary Award. Reception with refreshments will follow her speaker event.
