Event Description

Lisa Acherkan and Kenna Gage, students having their first shows, exhibit their works at The ArtiFactory Gallery through June.

A recent high school graduate, Lisa Acherkan’s many influences include Japanese animation and the animated series Arcane. That show’s style inspired her to pursue the goal of becoming a professional artist.  Lisa has been accepted to the School of Visual Arts for 3D Animation and Visual Effects in New York City .

Kenna Gage works mainly in sketchbooks, which allows her to move between different styles and mediums (watercolor, charcoal, chalk pastel, and inks).  She takes inspiration from music, mainly the 2010s hipster and 1990s grunge scenes, and films of the Czech New Wave.  Kenna teaches art classes at Maroger Fine Arts in Coralville and this summer is studying art in Prague, Czech Republic.

The two-person show runs through June.  The ArtiFactory gallery is open Saturdays from 1-3 p.m. or by appointment.  Admission is free.
