Event Description

Adapted from the well-known Middle Eastern folktale, Aladdin and the Magic Lamp is an adventurous tale filled with an evil vizier, magical characters, the pursuit of love.

A lazy and carefree young lad, Aladdin whiles away his time in the marketplace. His conscience, Ni’Ddala, tries her best to keep him out of trouble. One day, the vizier appears in the marketplace and tricks Aladdin into helping him enter the cavern of a mythical sphinx. The sphinx opens only at the command of a kind and clever boy with kindness, love and wisdom in his heart. With the vizier’s instructions, Aladdin’s command opens the cave. Once inside, Aladdin is overcome by treasures that could save his mother from her poor life. The vizier seeks only a golden lamp and becomes impatient with Aladdin. Furious, the vizier locks Aladdin in the cave. Alone with Ni’Ddala, Aladdin discovers the true magic of the golden lamp by unleashing its powerful genie. With his first wish, Aladdin escapes the cave, returns to the marketplace and soon encounters Princess Zahira. Awestruck, Aladdin seeks to win her hand. Not to be outdone, the evil vizier reappears and tries to keep Aladdin from the princess. Join us for Aladdin’s adventure into a world of magic and intrigue!
