On March 17, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds declared a statewide public health disaster emergency in response to the state's coronavirus outbreak. The proclamation includes the restriction of in-person gatherings of 10 or more people along with the temporary closing of several businesses in the arts, culture and entertainment sector.

Most of the public gatherings listed on the Hoopla calendar are canceled or postponed through the end of April. Please check with event organizers to confirm the status of events you see listed.

Event Description

Find complete rest and relaxation for mind, body and spirit during a monthly Day of Self Renewal at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha). This day of pampering is facilitated by Angie Pierce Jennings one Monday a month and features two 40-minute holistic services, guided meditation, singing bowl prayer, access to walking trails and all that Prairiewoods has to offer, a fresh lunch, hours of free time and a private guest room (if requested). (Choose from massage, head and shoulder massage, reflexology, healing touch, spiritual direction, dream processing, yoga, chair yoga, guided ecospiritual experience or labyrinth meditation.) We can check into our rooms as early as 8 a.m., and the program begins promptly at 8:30 in the Center. The cost is $110 and includes guided meditation, singing bowl prayer, two holistic services, a room for the day and lunch (or $95 without a private guest room). Registration, a nonrefundable/nontransferable deposit of $50 and top three service choices are required at least five days in advance.
