Plot, Character, Idea: Turning Inspiration into Story
- 1 - 4 p.m.
- Ages 14+
We all have stories to tell, stories we’ve lived, imagined or discovered, but telling a story well is difficult. We don’t know how or where to start, and once we’ve begun, we’re not sure how to turn our draft into a story that’s engaging and meaningful.
In this free three-hour course, we will look at one definition of “story” and read short examples of three types of stories: event-driven, character-driven, and idea-driven. Then we will look at ways to take our inspiration or early draft, flesh it out and shape it into a complete story.
