Spirituality in the 21st Century—Living in the Mangle: Coming to Life in a World Alive
- 7 - 9 p.m.
- All Ages
Delve into the chaotic and mysterious uncertainty of living in between two stories, the elder one replete with separateness, hierarchies and imbedded dualisms, and the new one that celebrates inter-connection and inter-being. The transition, as we know, is anything but simple. International authors and speakers Charles Eisenstein and Bayo Akomolafe will serve as our courageous navigators as we set sail in turbulent waters, and musician-of-the-earth Sara Thomsen will help us rock the boat! This is Prairiewoods’ annual Spirituality in the 21st Century (SP21C) event, which in the past has featured such renowned speakers as Marcus Borg, Joyce Rupp, Michael Morwood, Walter Brueggemann and Peter Block. This epic event will be held Friday evening, April 12, and Saturday, April 13, at St. Ludmila’s Catholic Church (211 21st Ave Southwest in Cedar Rapids). The cost of this two-day event is $75 ($80 after March 29) and includes Saturday lunch. (Or pay $25 for Friday only or $60 for Saturday only.) For more information or to register, contact Prairiewoods at www.Prairiewoods.org or 319-395-6700.
