Event Description

Take time to be with others in grief and engage the creative spark. Jamie Siela, LISW, from Unity Point Hospice facilitates this monthly grief support group open to anyone grieving loss through death. On the third Wednesday of each month, explore a different creative medium online via Zoom. Bring your creative ideas to help brighten the days of others! On Oct. 21, we will create a birch tree painting. Birch trees can signify new beginnings, motivation and imagination, all of which can feel lost in grief. We will experiment with yarn, canvas board and paint to create our own birch tree masterpieces. This support group is offered as a partnership between Prairiewoods and Unity Point Hospice. Due to COVID-19, this will be offered via Zoom with a to go kit mailed to all registered participants the week prior to group. This group is free and includes all art supplies. Registration is required by the previous Tuesday. For more information or to register, contact Prairiewoods at www.Prairiewoods.org or 319-395-6700.
