Soul Care: Creative Arts Grief Support Group with Prairiewoods
- 5:30 p.m. to 7p.m. -
- All Ages
Take time to connect with others in grief and engage the creative spark. Jamie Siela, LISW, and Kristine Shultis, MDiv, LMT, CHT, from Unity Point Hospice facilitate this monthly grief group open to anyone grieving loss through death. On the third Wednesday of each month, come together in person at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha) or online to explore a different creative art medium. Our August artwork will be understanding grief masks. Using paper mâché masks, we will acknowledge the brave face many of us wear while grieving. These masks are sometimes used to hide our true feelings from the outside world. We will compare how we let the outside world see us with what we feel on the inside. Registration is required by noon eight days in advance. As a joint program with Unity Point, Covid screening questions will be asked upon arrival for those in person. For those joining us online, group art kits will be mailed one week prior to the session. Please indicate at registration if you will be joining in person or online. This group is free and includes all art supplies. For more information or to register, contact Prairiewoods at www.Prairiewoods.org or 319-395-6700.
