Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life (S.E.E.L.) 11 Retreat at Prairiewoods
- 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- All Ages
Do you wonder how the Spirit is moving in your everyday life? The Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life (S.E.E.L.) is a retreat experienced over the course of nine months in the very heart of your unique journey, encompassing all your joys, sorrows and holy desires for something “more” in the process. St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuits, offered the Spiritual Exercises to help seekers dispose their hearts to discover the mysterious meanderings of God in their lives. S.E.E.L. includes daily prayer with readings provided each day, monthly gatherings with the S.E.E.L. group for ongoing reflection in a communal setting, meeting individually with a spiritual director once monthly and learning the art of discernment. This group meets at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha) nine Saturdays in 2018 and 2019: Sept. 15, Oct. 6 (at St. Pius X Catholic Church), Nov. 10, Dec. 8, Jan. 12, Feb. 16, March 16, April 20 and May 4. (The first and last sessions run 9 a.m.–3 p.m.; the other sessions are 9 a.m.–1 p.m.) Come see what God can do with even the tiniest opening in your heart! The cost of this nine-month retreat is $450 (payable in Sept. 2018 or in monthly installments of $50) plus the cost of monthly spiritual direction sessions paid separately (usually $45 per hour). A non-refundable deposit of $25 is required at registration. For more information or to request an application, contact Prairiewoods at www.Prairiewoods.org or 319-395-6700.
